Yo, you better start listening now. Me found an interesting site which explains all kind of ‘rap’ terms. Useless? A little bit, but funny it is. Me didn’t know where cop came from (did you?):
Originates from the eight-pointed copper stars worn by the first municipal police officers, in New York, New York, near the turn of the 20th century.
