Yeah, again a technical related log. Currently I have no inspiration for logs about my life. Wait, tonight I will go to a jamsession of a band in Muziek Centrum Albrandswaard. Perhaps we can also play somewhere/somehow on the drums, although I am really doubting whether that would be a good idea. At least we will take a look on how it looks like. Perhaps in the future we can try to exercise there
Another thing I would like to mention is the PhotoMesa Image browser, which you can find here. It uses .NET — I won’t say anything about .NET, just decide it yourself — and allows you to very easily browse through your photogalleries. The benefit of this program is that you smoothly can zoom in/out while browsing the pictures. It allows you to instantly zoom into pictures. Just try it to experience how it works. Ofcourse tools like Breezebrowser, Google’s Picasa and Capture one also allow you to sort out (or even edit) your pictures. If you know something even better, just let me know.

| Some people at the New York University have created a nice screen where you can interact with by just using your fingers. It is based on the same mechanism used by fingerprinting. Take a look at this movie. It immediately reminds me of the movie Minority Report. Just add some transparency to it. Funny and interesting that things which were in movies a few years or several years ago seem to become reality not that far away from the future. I am sure that a lot of futuristic things in movies — which play in a far future — will be developed/invented much earlier than we can even imagine.
For those who are interesed in it btw, the soundtrack of this short video is from Peace Orchestra and is called Who Am I?. |

A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted a small computer for relatively simple tasks. And the capability to record video/play video via my TV-card. I surfed a little bit on the Internet and there are a lot of these so called ‘barebones’ to choose from. I also talked about it with a good friend of mine and I tried a Pundit barebone. Nice thing, quiet, but somehow it was really impossible to let the system reboot with my TV-card (Hauppauge PVR250) and an ATI graphics card. I had to physically take out the PCI-risercard before the system would boot up again. Digged on the internet and couldn’t find any solution. So this wasn’t going to be my system.

Last week I decided to buy an ASUS S-Presso online. I never buy a computersystem online. I mostly buy my parts seperately and then assemble it myself. But ok, I bought a computersystem online by Mycom — the barebone was relatively cheap there (I thought) and I just wanted to try to buy a computer online. Let me keep it short, they miscommunicated to me. But anyhow I got the system yesterday and it works great. I also bought an Acer 1715 TFT screen, good enough for me. Furthermore Media Center is installed and that works perfectly (recorded Koppensnellers and watched it one hour later). Ofcourse you can also use alternatives like MythTV (linux) or Media Portal (windows).

The title is pretty self explanatory. Some guy made a very nice site where you can check what kind of electronic music genres there are. From Miami Bass (breakbeat) to Anthem (breakbeat). Or from Gloomcore (hardcore) to Jtek (hardcore). Every genre you click on will play a sample from that genre. At least you learn what different styles sound like.
