Always wanted to learn yodeling? Don’t think so. But while surfing as a madman I found a Yodel Course site. In the downloads-section you can here various yodel-techniques. No, it doesn’t sound anyhow, at most it is entertaining…

Oslo, part two and three

Posted by Tjeerd on May 11, 2006
I promised to put online new parts of the Oslo-photo-collection too and so that’s what happened now. There is a part two and also a part three. The snow pictures are taken on the Holmenkollenmountain and the other pictures are taken in the Vigeland Sculpture Park. Furthermore taken some random pictures. There will follow more pictures later on, this is it for today. Oslo’s a very nice city :)

BTW: there is a picture of a dog, that dog was very cool. It was gliding on the street by putting one paw on a stone and use that as a skate :D – it’s a pity there’s no camera-recording of it.

Oslo

Posted by Tjeerd on May 9, 2006
Last week I’ve been visiting Oslo together with my girlfriend Nina. Until last week I’ve always been to places by car or train, but this time I had to go by airplane. Really not my favorite way of transportation, but after all it wasn’t really that bad. Within 1.5 hours flying we were on the airfield nearby Oslo. We have had perfect weather. It was sunny and the temperature was constantly about 22 or 23 degrees Celcius.

Seen a lot of nice old architecture and big parks with a lot of fountains. It’s better not to compare Oslo to cities like Rotterdam or Utrecht — I like to compare a lot now and then ;) — but it’s really a relaxed city. People are everywhere just taking their time and quite a few times I’ve seen people sitting with laptops just on the streets. You don’t want to sit with a laptop on street in Rotterdam, it will be stolen within a few minutes I guess.

We’ve also been to Holmenkollen, some sort of big ski-jump place. In the ‘mountains’ nearby Oslo there was also still laying about half a meter of snow. That was at a height of about 400 meters, while in Oslo city it was warm weather. Nice to experience that contrast.

You can see some pictures which I’ve made here. This is just part 1, more parts are coming later this week.
