24Oct06 Ghosttowns aka spookstadjes
Op één of andere manier kwam ik terecht op een Wikipedia-artikel over spookstadjes. In Amerika zijn nogal wat spooksteden te vinden. Net of sommigen uit films komen. Bijvoorbeeld Ballarat, California:

Today Ballarat has one or two full-time residents. As of October 2006, Rock Novak and his dog, Potlicker live in the town. The store is open most afternoons and weekends and Rock will sell you soft drinks and other snacks. Visitors are welcome.

Een beetje zoeken op Internet levert een pagina op met een stukje commentaar van Rock Novak zelf waar hij zelfs een oproep doet:

"I am anxious to find a lady about 30-50 who is interested in living here with me for a while to help document the history of this area. Quite a task. Somebody who loves history and with an eye to journalism would be great. I can supply the home, food and companionship. Write to Rock Novak, PO Box 80, Trona, CA 93592."

Uiteraard is er ook een site met foto’s die zijn gemaakt in een hoop spookstadjes, kijk zelf maar. Als dit allemaal te ver is, kun je altijd nog hier in Nederland terecht bij Schokland.
