Interface Hall of Shame

There is a bunch of software available with interfaces which are just suckage. There is a site — which I already saw a long while ago, but is really worth mentioning it again here — which shows some pages with a lot of “buggy-interfaces” screenshots.

Do you have any choice?

Take a look at the site here.

Solar Implants in human eyes

Ophthalmologists have implanted Artificial Silicon Retina microchips in the eyes of five patients to treat vision loss caused by retinitis pigmentosa. The implant is a 2mm chip that contains about 5,000 microscopic solar cells that convert light into electrical impulses.

See the original news report on Science Blog.

Just the beginning of something like Terminator eyes? At the moment not a high resolution, but it doesn’t take too long or the resolution of these chips could become even higher than that of the human eye perhaps?. If that amount of signal bandwidth could ever be accepted by your brains ;)

The Tweel

Michelin has developed a ‘new’ kind of wheel, called a Tweel. Looks a little bit strange, but seems to have potential for the next-generation wheels.

You can see a short promotional movie from Michelin where a tweel has been used over here.

Chris Huelsbeck – Amiga music composer

As (also) computer music freak I sometimes like to listen to music which is composed for games or computerdemo’s or just soundtracks from games. A friend of mine notified me of the existence of the famous computermusic composer called Chris Huelsbeck, he composed soundtracks for over 70 computergames. I don’t like all songs of him, but there are definitely some nice songs created by this guy.

Visit http://www.huelsbeck.com for more information.
