Melotron

This is electro music from ‘Ze germans’, although I would place the music more in the gothic-lite-trance category or so. Forget the previous crap about trying to place music in a certain category and just start listening it. The lyrics are completely in german and the music is bassy and more party-a-like and because it reminds me a lot of trance, this is close to the border of what I like in the direction of trance.

I personally like the tracks Melotron – Der Anfang and Melotron – Wünsch mich nicht zurück the most, the others are mwah, mwah. To conclude: they have some nice tracks, but they are not overall my taste. Visit www.melotron.de for their official homepage.

Lush

Posted by Tjeerd on May 25, 2005
I can’t really find a lot about this band, called Lush, so I won’t go in detail about that. But, what is Lush? Lush is a shoegazer band, again a specific kind of music with a certain sound. If I have to describe this band, I would say it sounds a bit like they are playing dreamy guitars. The voice of the female lead-singer reminds me of the Cranberries. You have to listen it yourself to know what I mean. So go visit this Yahoo site to listen to some samples. I like them anyway, although when listening for a while, it can get boring because the songs are all a bit similar.

The VCR, just a daily apparatus

Posted by Tjeerd on May 23, 2005
Almost everyone has one at home…, most people don’t know the capabilities of the thing, except how to insert that piece of tape-in-plastic into the thing and how to record or play (ok, I admit that should be enough). The videorecorder isn’t yet gone, but in the countries where the broadband infrastructure and digital equipment is growing and growing, it wouldn’t surprise me if the old fashioned VCR (based on tape) will disappear. I found a site which gives a nice overview from the first videorecorder from around WW2 — which had tapes running at 150 kilometres per hour (!) — till the most recent models. I didn’t like history at school that much (although when tripping in Scandinavia along some castles etc., I found the history of Denmark and Sweden very interesting) but the history of VCR’s should really be taught at school ;)

Powerrrrrr

Forget the Danoontje commercial. It was about two years ago, I didn’t have the intention to do what I did at that time, but I guess it happened because I often want to ride up to the dike and keep pulling on the bike steer, to give extra leg-power to the pedals. Somehow at that time while riding up the dike again with the bike, I bent the handlebar of my dad’s bike in a semi V-shape, it felt like being Superman.

Today was again such a day, like feeling being Superman. I was just cutting my bread and suddenly my knife broke apart. I definitely am an agressive element sometimes.
